SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 25. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands counts this Monday two new cases and one in study of monkeypox since Friday.
Therefore, since the beginning of the declaration of the health alert there have been 98 confirmed cases, of which 66 were detected in Gran Canaria, 30 in Tenerife and two in Fuerteventura.
All active cases are having mild symptoms and remain in home isolation receiving follow-up from Primary Care, the Ministry points out in a note.
Apart from the confirmed cases, there is one probable case, pending confirmation, reported in Gran Canaria.
The protocol of the Ministry of Health classifies cases between probable and suspected depending on whether the patient meets clinical criteria and epidemiological criteria (probable cases) or if it only presents clinical criteria and in such case it is considered a suspected case.
