“This is the culmination of a great job, of a daily effort for many months. It all started with the start of the works and the construction of the Agüimes Logistics Platform, in Gran Canaria. It is the supply and operations base for all of our stores. We plan to open 10 supermarkets in 2022 and 20 more in the next three years », he announced.
The Los Rodeos store has a commercial area of 1,360 square meters and its opening hours will be between 8:30 and 22:00. It also has a car park with capacity for 95 vehicles, including three spaces with recharging points for electric cars. “The supermarket in La Laguna has easy access and great visibility. According to the data he provided, 80% of Aldi’s assortment is of national origin and 20% of Canarian origin. “We have around 330 Canarian products. For example, all the fruit and vegetables are from here, as well as meat, dairy products, drinks and cosmetics. They come from 40 Canarian suppliers. They are identified with the seal I’m Canary».

For its part, Acosta congratulated the chain for its commitment to job creation. “I must thank this effort in a moment of uncertainty like this. Welcome be the competition that will help us fight inflation, “said the representative of the Canarian Executive.
For its part, Gutierrez valued the expertise of the brand for having chosen La Laguna to open one of its first stores in the Archipelago. “It shows that they are intelligent since they have set up their first supermarket in the best municipality in the entire Canary Islands,” he joked. “Job creation is essential right now and I know perfectly well that it will create many more jobs not only directly but also indirectly in our municipality,” he concluded.
