SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 20. (EUROPE PRESS) –
A 45-year-old woman has been injured while hiking in the municipality of Santiago del Teide, in Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 1-1-2.
The event occurred around 11:45 a.m., when 1-1-2 received an alert informing that a hiker had suffered a fall in an area of difficult access and required medical assistance.
On behalf of the Cecoes, a rescue helicopter from the GES, a basic life support ambulance from the SUC, members of the Firefighters Consortium, Rural Guards and Local Police were activated.
Rescuers from the GES helicopter reached the affected area and, together with the firefighters, provided first aid and immobilized it to hoist it onto the aircraft and evacuate it to the Adeje Volunteer Firefighters helipad.
Once on land, the SUC staff assisted the hiker and transferred her to a hospital center as she presented a moderate lower trauma with the exception of complications.
