SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 16. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Minister of Social Rights, Equality, Diversity and Youth of the Government of the Canary Islands, Noemí Santana, and the Deputy Minister of Equality and Diversity, Sylvia Jaén, presented this Thursday the advertising campaign and the program of activities organized by the Government of the Canary Islands around to next June 28, ‘LGTBI Pride Day’ and that this year it will leave the capital’s islands to focus the institutional act on El Hierro.
According to Santana, it will be linked “to our identity as a people with an image rooted in who we are and our symbology.”
The objective of this year’s program is to give prominence to popular culture from a perspective of equality and diversity, to historical memory and to the most current claims and proposals.
The Deputy Minister for Equality and Diversity outlined the program of activities that will include an advertising campaign, a program on Canarian television and the presentation of the book ‘Canarias Ogullosa 2022’.
“The activities will begin on June 28 with the broadcast of the special TVC program, focused on our most intimate culture, our culture and roots, and we will end up doing it big with different activities over three days in El Pinar,” he said.
He also highlighted the relevance of transferring the ‘Proud Canary Islands’ program to El Hierro since the Canary Islands are built “from each of the 8 islands”.
