The Summer University is once again face-to-face with 11 courses and 9 workshops

The Summer University of Adeje 2022 will be held from July 18 to 22, recovers its face-to-face format and repeats the structure that combines eleven three-day courses with nine one-afternoon workshops. Enrollment will open on Monday, the 20th, at the price of 25 euros for courses and 10 euros for workshops. The Aula Magna of the central building of the University of La Laguna hosted the presentation, yesterday, in an act presided over by the rector, Rosa Aguilar, with the presence of the vice-rector for Culture and Social Participation, Juan Albino Méndez, and the Adeje Councilor for Culture, María Rosario Clavijo.

The rector valued the close collaboration with the city council for decades culminating in the launch of a university campus in Adeje and, for two years, with the development in its municipal facilities of the EBAU tests. The Vice Chancellor highlighted the quality of the training proposal, endorsed by the teaching staff of the University of La Laguna that has developed it and that, in addition, tries to cover a wide variety of topics, attending to the concerns of society.

The Councilor for Culture of Adeje referred to the variety of workshops and the programming of parallel activities. She also revealed that this year the leitmotif of the courses has been emotional well-being and health and, in line with this, the opening speaker will be the pedagogue specializing in emotional intelligence, Mar Romera.

“30 years have passed but the anniversary is postponed because in 2020 there were no courses”

María Rosario Clavijo – Councilor for Culture

During the event, the advertising poster was also presented, the work of the artist from Adeje, Oriol Cruz Martínez. It combines views of municipal buildings from different perspectives with people of different ages and ethnicities, thus trying to link socio-cultural diversity with the territory in which it develops.

The courses will be taught both in the morning and in the afternoon and may be validated for an ECTS credit. Carrying out three workshops is also validated with a credit. The organization will carry out the return transfer of students who come from the urban area Santa Cruz-La Laguna, at no additional cost.
