The Tomé Cano car park must lower its rate by 30%

The Tomé Cano car park is the one that charges the highest rate of all Santa Cruz, with a price that reaches 3.10 euros per hour. This is what the Public Services area points out, headed by Carlos Tarife, through the review of the city’s public car park concessions. In this specific case, according to municipal calculations, 30% more is being charged than what was established in the award specifications, for which the Capital City Council has contacted the current concessionaire, Interparking Hispania, so that it proceeds to regularize the rate and reduce it to 2.3 euros per hour.

As for the canon that must be paid annually, an aspect that is also being reviewed by Public Services, the technicians have detected an error in the calculations made by the company itself with the rates that it had been applying before the order to reduce it sent this year. Thus, it is estimated that it owes the Santa Cruz City Council 35,875 euros as a canon, corresponding to the sum of the years that have not yet prescribed, that is, from 2018 to 2021.

As for the canon that must be paid this year, with the regularization of the rate already applied, the sum amounts to 23,906 euros. The company has one month to apply the rate reduction, as well as to present as many allegations as it deems appropriate.

As Councilman Carlos Tarife confirmed, of the dealers with whom he has already contacted, all the companies are presenting allegations. When these are answered by the local administration, if the awardees of the contracts still do not apply the resolution that is subtracted from this last process of allegations, the City Council will then go to a contentious-administrative so that it is a court that orders the regularization.

All the public car parks analyzed have already been reported, with the exception of the car park located in Plaza de España, which will be the last to be included in this list of concessions reviewed by Public Services. In all the cases exposed so far, not a single parking lot would be charging the rate corresponding to what is included in the service award specifications.

,
As for the canon that must be paid, until now it has only been necessary to return money to a dealer for having paid more. The rest has been owed to City hall.
