The City Council of El Rosario has contracted the second group for the next six months corresponding to Extraordinary Social Employment Program 2022which is part of the Framework Agreement for collaboration between the Canarian Employment Service (SCE) and the Canarian Federation of Municipalities (Fecam). The beneficiaries are 27 unemployed people from the municipality. This set of workers corresponds to the second phase to employ a total of 54 unemployed who have been inserted in the labor market since December. The program has a municipal investment of 205,000 euros and a subsidy from the SCE of 293,000 euros.
The mayor of El Rosario, Scholastic Gilaccompanied by the Councilor for Employment and Local Development, Yeray Gutiérrez, received yesterday morning, at the Casa de la Cultura, the 27 employees corresponding to the second group of the total of 54 people assigned to the aforementioned employment plan.
The first mayor highlighted in a press release the effort made by the City Council to finance this type of employment programs. And he stated: “Its financing is possible because when we got to the government we lowered our salary and we can allocate those 200,000 euros a year that we save to cover employment policies.” Likewise, Gil reminded the new municipal employees that «from now on they will be part of the City Councilwith the same rights and obligations and, therefore, I ask you to always act with professionalism and responsibility».
In addition to the Social Employment Plans, the City Council of El Rosario currently manages a Local Employment Plan that benefits twelve workers, an Employability Plan that benefits 32 long-term unemployed and three Training Programs in Alternation with Employment (PFAE ), also agreed with the Canary Islands Employment Service.
The Social Employment Plan always attends, in the first place, to those professional profiles most necessary for the daily work of a local Administration and that comply with the parameters established by the agreement with the SCE and the Fecam.
The professional categories of the 27 employees that make up the first group are: twelve laborers, six first class officers (two plumbers, two masons and two locksmiths), three cleaning assistants, two administrative assistants, two socio-cultural animators, a home help assistant and an industrial engineer
“The objective of this agreement is to promote local employment and improve the economic conditions of families,” says the press release sent by the Consistory. In this sense, it should be noted that the selection criteria for applicants, which are drawn up by the SCE, emphasize that they be long-term unemployed, people over 45 with family responsibilities, people without resources or at risk of exclusion and members of family nuclei with all their members unemployed. “All these situations will be endorsed by the technicians of the Department of Social Action of the City Council of El Rosario,” he indicates.
