SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 30 May. (EUROPE PRESS) –

Canarios Sin Alas has asked for a solution for the canaries who live outside the Islands, because for yet another year “we celebrate May 30 outside the Canary Islands, with the prices of flights skyrocketing and without finding solutions to the problem of the price of the bills”.

The association has indicated in a press release that by doing a simple search for Madrid-Tenerife flights for the month of August “we find that it is not possible to fly to the Island for less than 300 euros per person”, bearing in mind that the plane is “our train or our bus”.

Canarios Sin Alas adds that 2,500 kilometers and a sea of distance “make it very difficult to see friends and relatives, attend a wedding, accompany someone sick or bury a relative or not be uprooted is incompatible with having a family doctor and the rest of the advantages that you have to reside in the place where you live, being therefore obliged to be eternal residents in the Canary Islands”.

The majority of Canarians who live on the Peninsula, the association points out, “are forced to continue residing in the Canary Islands so as not to lose their relationship with their family and with the islands where they were born.”

They emphasize that in these five years they have met with all the political parties; “We have received smiles, and good words, which have remained at that,” criticizes the association, which hopes that the next time Canary Islands Day is celebrated it will be with “some measure that transforms good words and sympathy into solutions that come closer to the Canary Islands”.
