SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 14 May. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Roads and Mobility Area of the Cabildo de Tenerife will continue next week with the rehabilitation work on the Autopista del Sur (TF-1), which will address the section around the Granadilla Industrial Estate. These works, which will run from this Sunday night until Friday morning, will focus on paving the asphalt of the intermediate layer of the road.

The First Vice President and Island Councilor for Highways, Enrique Arriaga, explained that this action “responds to the needs that the Island has in terms of mobility; a response that we have been working on for the last three years and that not only represents an improvement in road conditions, but it has been an economic engine for companies in the sector after the pandemic,” he added.

In addition, Enrique Arriaga wanted to remember that this action generates around 90 jobs, which has been “an important boost to the sector and an opportunity for a large number of professionals in this field”.

The improvement works carried out by the company Sacyr will affect the road in the direction of Santa Cruz around the entrance links to the Granadilla Industrial Estate (50 and 52), which will be closed during this week. With the aim of guaranteeing circulation on the road and minimizing inconvenience to drivers, the rehabilitation work will be concentrated between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

Roads will establish the necessary detours around the work zone, which will be the same every night. In this way, the vehicles that circulate in the direction of the capital and want to access the Polígono must continue until exit 49 (Chimiche/El Río/Las Maretas), where they can make a U-turn to return, in the direction of Santa Cruz, to the destination area.

On the other hand, those who from this industrial environment want to travel towards the metropolitan area, should join the road to the south, to make the change of direction at junction 55 (San Isidro/El Médano).

These works are part of the TF-1 resurfacing plan that has been carried out since last April and which includes an execution period of approximately fourteen months. In total, the works, carried out by Sacyr, will comprise nearly 40 kilometers of the road between Adeje and Arico.
