The Ofra Vistabella school is renamed CEIP Georgia Martín Rodríguez, in honor of one of the founders of this center in 1979, after the signing of the concession decree by the mayor of Santa Cruz, José Manuel Bermúdez, and the proposal of the cloister, the school board and the school management team.
Georgia Martín, who passed away in 2020, developed a stimulating task of teamwork and cooperation to improve the comprehensive training of students, so that they could build their life project.
The agreement has already been notified to the family of Georgia Martín, the council and the Ministry of Education, Universities, Culture and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands.
Bermúdez has highlighted, according to a statement from the City Council, that the honoree “always believed in the possibilities of the school and fought to make it what it is today, a reference public center both in the municipality and on the island”.
