A Cuban media reports the escape of 8 members of a choir after performing in Tenerife

Eight members of the vocal group Interviewsbelonging to the National Choir of Cuba, they have stayed in Spain after holding several performances in Tenerife to commemorate the fortieth anniversary of its constitution. According to the information offered by the media outlet 14ymedio.com, which offers information on Cuban affairs, five of the members who left the formation decided not to leave Tenerife, while another three left the group in Madrid, before returning to the Caribbean country.

Entrevoces made three performances in Tenerife. Specifically, one of them took place in Arona (South of the Island) and the other two in La Laguna, both at the Leal Theater and at the Auditorium of the University of La Laguna (ULL).

To develop these performances, organized by the Canarias Canta Cultural Association, they had the support of the Arona City Council, the La Laguna Town Hall, the Government of the Canary Islands and the ULL Vice-Rectorate for Culture.

This tour, which began last year, was part of the celebration of the fortieth anniversary of the aforementioned chamber choir. This group, which was created in 1981, is directed by Digna Guerra, a deputy of the Assembly of People’s Power.

Entrevoces is characterized by being a mixed vocal formation, which stands out for its interpretation of music from all periods and styles, from Spanish, English and Italian Renaissance polyphony, to contemporary music, black spirituals, Latin American folklore or Cuban music. usually.

On April 25, Entrevoces visited the Arona Town Hall, where the mayor, the socialist José Julián Mena, highlighted the ties that have united Canarians and Cubans for centuries. “Today we are not politicians sitting in this room, but blood brothers together, thanking you, excellent ambassadors of Cuban music, for this opportunity,” assured the Aronero councilor, who admitted that he has relatives in the Camagüey area.

During the aforementioned reception at the headquarters of the Arona municipal corporation, Entrevoces performed a choral version of Chan Chanone of the songs popularized by the remembered interpreter Compay Segundo.

After a tour of various enclaves of the municipality, the vocal training received various books published by the aronero consistory about Havana.

One of the Entrevoces performances took place at the Infanta Leonor Auditorium, in the center of Los Cristianos on April 26.

During the last decades, the vocal group has offered performances in very diverse countries, such as Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Luxembourg, Holland, Belgium, Venezuela, Jamaica, Barbados, Ecuador, Colombia, Poland, the United States, Canada or Ciudad del Vatican, among others. In addition, they have participated in the recording of different soundtracks for cinematographic works, such as dueling technique, Age of Enlightenment, The Last Supper either patakinamong other.

For decades they have been numerous episodes in which Cuban citizens, who have come to Spain to participate in sports or artistic activities, have decided not to return to your country.

The aforementioned media outlet also mentioned the case of the athlete Ismael Borrero, 30, of Greco-Roman wrestling, who left his delegation before starting the Pan-American championship in Acapulco.
