Hemodonation recalls the importance of donating blood regularly to guarantee hospital activity

The Canary Institute of Hemodonation and Hemotherapy (ICHH)attached to the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, will set up temporary spaces for blood donation next week in Adeje, Arafo, La Orotava, The rosary Y Guia de Isora in Tenerife; Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Telde and Santa Lucía de Tirajana in Gran Canaria; Puerto del Rosario in Fuerteventura and in Teguise, Lanzarote, to facilitate the donation of blood to the population of these municipalities.

The ICHH reminds that blood donations are essential for the proper functioning of the health system of our Autonomous Community, a gesture of solidarity must be repeated throughout the year.

Requirements

To donate blood you can go directly or you can request an appointment by calling 012 or 922 470 012 / 928 301 012 (option 8), Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. or by filling in the form published on the cover of the web effect donacion.com. Before going to donate, it is advisable to review the information published on this same web page in the Information and Protocol tab, to familiarize yourself with the established security measures and the self-assessment test.

The ICHH also reminds that people vaccinated against COVID-19, with both one and two doses and the booster dose, can donate blood after 48 hours of inoculation.

Where to donate in Tenerife

During the next week, blood donors will be able to continue going to the new collection point located in the El Trompo Shopping Center in La Orotava (sector 10, Las Arenas, exit 36 ​​of the TF-5, next to China Town). Hours will be Monday through Thursday from 4:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Friday from 9:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 4:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

In Adeje you can donate on Monday at the Casa de la Juventud, on Avenida de los Vientos, s/n, from 4:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and at the headquarters of the National Commissioner from 9:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.: 00 hours.

The Juan Carlos I de Arafo Auditorium, on Rafael Clavijo García street, will host a temporary donation point on Monday, from 10:15 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and from 4:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m., on Tuesday, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m., and Wednesday and Thursday from 4:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.

In addition, the municipality of El Rosario will be visited, specifically, the La Esperanza Farmer’s Market, on Camino de Peñafiel street, on the general highway of La Esperanza (TF-24), at kilometer 7. This point will be operational Tuesday to Thursday from 4:15 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Finally, the ICHH will travel to Guía de Isora on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

As for the fixed points, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife you can donate at the ICHH headquarters on calle Méndez Núñez, number 14, from Monday to Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. and from 3:45 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. hours (it has a ford for donors). This Saturday, April 23, it will open to the public from 9:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Extractions will also be carried out at the San Isidro Health Center, in Granadilla de Abona, from Monday to Thursday from 1:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This point has a parking space reserved for donors and the telephone service is through the number 677980518, except holidays. This Saturday, April 23, it will open to the public from 9:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

With regard to the fixed points of the Canarian Transfusion Network, at the Hospital Universitario de Canarias you can donate from Sunday to Friday and holidays from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. from 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and at the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria from Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., except holidays.

Where to donate in Gran Canaria

An ICHH team will continue to be active in the Los Alisios Shopping Center, next to the Management, on the first floor, on Calle Hermanos Domínguez Santana-carretera Nueva a San Lorenzo, 15, from Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. On April 29 the closing will be at 8:30 p.m.

The donation point set up in Santa Lucía de Tirajana (located in front of Parque de la Libertad, below the Peace Courts, c/ Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente) will also remain open. The schedule will be Monday from 4:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday from 9:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Friday from 9:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 4:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Likewise, in this municipality, the CEIP La Pardilla (mobile unit in the back) will be visited from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

On the other hand, the blood donation campaign continues at the Arucas Retirees Club. This campaign will run until April 26, Monday through Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.

In addition, the fixed point of the Alcampo Shopping Center is maintained, which will open all week. On Monday and Thursday, this extraction room will be operational from 9:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and, the rest of the week, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. An extraction team will also travel to CENCOSU-SPAR, at Calle Josefina Mayor 3, in Telde, from 9:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Regarding the business field, on Monday, April 26, the ICHH will visit Astican from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. At the same time, on Tuesday and Wednesday, a donation campaign will be held at SATOCAN, and at FEMEPA the hours will be from 9:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. and from 3:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

As for the fixed blood collection points, the ICHH makes its headquarters available to the population at calle Alfonso XIII, number 4, in the capital of Gran Canaria, from Monday to Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. 3:45 p.m. to 9:15 p.m., except holidays (it has a ford for donors).

You can also go to other fixed points of the Canarian Transfusion Network such as the Maternal-Child University Hospital of the Canary Islands from Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; the University Hospital of Gran Canaria Dr. Negrín from Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and the Hospital Universitario Insular de Gran Canaria, where you can donate from Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. 12:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., except holidays (there is a ford for donors in both cases).

Where to donate in Fuerteventura

Next week the ICHH extraction team will travel to CC Las Rotondas in Puerto del Rosario and will be located on floor 3, local 22, of this shopping center, from Monday to Wednesday from 3:45 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday from 8:45 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

You can also donate blood at the General Hospital of Fuerteventura, where the fixed blood donation point of the Canarian Transfusion Network is located on the island. This point will also be operational from Tuesday to Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. To donate, it is convenient to request an appointment at the number 928 546 684.

Where to donate in Lanzarote

Teguise will be visited next week, more specifically, the Tahíche School of Tourism, at 50 Rafael Albertí Street, where the ICHH will locate an extraction point from Monday to Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

In addition, on Thursday 28, in the afternoon, the CIFP Zonzamas, calle Doctor Barraquer 6, will be visited, as well as on Friday 29 from 8:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

In addition, the fixed blood donation point of the Canarian Transfusion Network at the Doctor José Molina Orosa University Hospital remains operational. Hours will be Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. To donate it is necessary to make an appointment in advance at the number 928 59 55 72 option 3.

Where to donate on La Palma

The University Hospital of La Palma has a fixed collection point where you can donate by appointment from Monday to Sunday, including holidays, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Where to donate in El Hierro

The Hospital Insular Nuestra Señora de los Reyes has a fixed collection point where you can donate on Mondays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (except holidays), by appointment by calling 690 886 059 or 922 553 500 .

Where to donate in La Gomera

The Hospital Insular Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe has a collection point where you can donate blood from Monday to Wednesday, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and on Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. except holidays). It is necessary to make an appointment in advance by calling 922 140 200 or 922 140 213.
