The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Insular Institute of Social and Socio-Sanitary Care (IASS), has listened to the proposals, suggestions and ideas of a hundred boys and girls between the ages of 10 and 17 who participated yesterday in the celebration of the 1st Insular Forum for Children, at the El Tranvía Citizen Center, located in the municipality of La Laguna.

As explained by the Minister of Social Action, Marián Franquet, the objective of this initiative was to know first-hand the opinion of the users of the resources and services in which the IASS Children and Family Unit participates. “This is a meeting with which we promote the participation of minors in the design of their day to day. A small representation of the more than 2,000 minors that we reach each year through the projects that we promote from the Cabildo, in collaboration with other administrations and social entities, participated in it, to promote the rights of children and guarantee adequate care. suitable for minors in a situation of risk or helplessness, as well as their families”, said the counselor.

During the welcoming ceremony, Marián Franquet stressed the unique opportunity that this forum represented for minors to express their opinion on the issues that affect them “and we can collect all their proposals with a view to enhancing the effectiveness of the attention we provide to the childhood”.
