The government group (PSOE-ACP) of Puerto de la Cruz hopes to put out to concession this year all the services provided by the public company Parque Marítimo SA (Pamarsa).
This will allow the dissolution of the public company, approved unanimously by all the political groups in plenary in 2012 as a result of the adjustment plan, because it failed to comply with the spending rule and generated losses that the City Council could not bear.
Thus, at the beginning of 2013, the start of a process was approved, scheduled until 2022, which has no turning back and should already be completed, as recalled on Monday in plenary by the Popular Party (PP) councilor Pedro González, who He also asked about the “government plans” and its intention to municipalize certain services, as happened with the parking lot in the Plaza de Europa.
This has not been possible because “the ordinary procedures for the different bar and restaurant concessions, as well as the management of car parks, take administrative time and are therefore subject to the conclusion of the different files, which were not started when This government group came to the City Council to be able to liquidate the public company Pamarsa”, the Councilor for Administrative Concessions, Julia Navas, assures this newspaper.
Navas adds that the concession for the Lido pizzeria and bar, in Lago Martiánez, has already been put out to tender, and work is being done on the rest of the restaurant premises, for which the concession for the entire complex was needed. while in the case of the bars in Playa Jardín, permission had to be requested from Costas and it was done.
Regarding the service provided by lifeguards, it was first necessary to make protection plans for the beaches and the Lake, in order to know the necessary number of lifeguards, as well as the necessary materials to provide an optimal service. It has been carried out in this mandate and right now a company is working on this list, details the councilor, while the cleaning of Playa Jardín will be included in the City Council’s cleaning list.
“It is expected that all these procedures will be completed during 2022. Taking into account that there are technicians in the City Council who consider that Pamarsa should have been liquidated years ago, there is no evidence that this circumstance for a few months will have any consequences for the City Council”, clarifies the mayor.
