The plenary session of Guía de Isora approves the municipal budget for this year for 22,227,320 euros. The document is focused on supporting the most vulnerable families and groups of the population, providing the municipality with quality public services and contributing to boosting the economy through policies that promote key sectors at the local level and with investments that improve the infrastructure of sustainably, according to the municipal government.
The mayor, Josefa Mesa, maintains that “we have prepared a prudent and rigorous budget, starting from an economic and social context still marked by the covid-19 crisis.” She admits that “the economic recovery and an improvement in tourist activity are in sight”, but “the levels before the pandemic have not yet been reached, much less in the family economy, which is what most concerns us. worries”.
In this framework, it defends the commitment to reinforce social policies and services that serve as support, as well as to “give continuity to employment programs to launch more projects that attend to different situations of the population”, for which it increases the match.
are incorporated investments in public spaces and infrastructure –such as the adaptation of the wake rooms to the health law, the expansion of the cemetery–, as well as improvements in open commercial areas to promote economic and tourist activity. Some of these investments will be made jointly with the Council of Tenerife.
With a rigorous rule in the chapter on expenses and making an effort not to raise municipal taxes, the item destined to increase the places in nursery schools, maintenance of parks and gardens and the sewage treatment plant is increased. The credits included are sufficient to consolidate the existing workforce and to create one position in the Local Police and three in the General Administration, also amortizing one position in the selective collection area.
The investment chapter is reduced compared to 2021, because there is a forecast of increasing the budget thanks to European funds and the use of the remaining cash. Sports and cultural activities are also recovered.
