The Socialist Group takes tomorrow’s plenary session in the Cabildo a motion to implement support measures for the livestock sector for 1.1 million euros between direct subsidies and savings initiatives. The island councilor for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Javier Parrilla, proposes two ways to materialize this impulse: streamline the payment of aid to producers, and suspend the payment of fees at the Island Slaughterhouse for one year.
Parrilla proposes streamlining the procedures for aid in favor of livestock and resorting to the declaration of urgency, while highlighting the need to organize promotional actions that, under the umbrella of the Carnes Frescas de Tenerife brand, disseminate, raise awareness and promote the meat consumption in the country. Parrilla assures that the objective is “to help the sector in the face of the uncertainty derived from the war in Ukraine.”
