SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 16. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Roads area, is beginning these days to rehabilitate the surface of the TF-312 island road, known as the Botánico road, in Puerto de la Cruz.
The works will have an execution period of three months and a budget of 493,131 euros, some works that will be carried out between kilometer points 0 and 2.
The first vice-president and councilor for Roads, Enrique Arriaga, informs in a note that “the works on this artery, the main access road to the tourist city, include an important action on the pavement to replace the wearing course on this road through which thousands of drivers circulate daily”.
In addition, he explains that “the defense and drainage elements will also be increased, a section of sidewalk and a wall will be replaced to improve the urban transition zone and a wall-planter will also be built.”
The insular director of Roads, Tomás Félix García, explains that the rehabilitation consists of the partial elimination of the pavement and its subsequent replacement, respecting the grade of the current road.
García points out that the Botánico road is degraded as a result of the high density of traffic and inclement weather and “the emaciation and progressive loss of the road course is evident, which can affect safety and cause an increase in accidents of the road”.
To carry out the work safely, punctual cuts will be made, speed will be reduced in the area, alternative steps will be enabled or detours will be produced as necessary at all times.
