SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 3. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands, through the public company Turismo de Islas Canarias, has carried out the first draw for virtual cards that are part of the promotional action to promote tourism in La Palma and reactivate the economy of the island after the eruption of the volcano and that benefits 4,500 people of the 83,554 who have signed up.
The draws will be held on the first Wednesday of each month and yesterday the first of the seven draws that are scheduled to be held from March to September and that will allow the distribution of up to 20,000 bonuses for a total value of 5.6 million euros took place.
This initiative is part of the program ‘Bonos Turísticos La Palma’, developed by the Ministry and co-financed with the Secretary of State for Tourism.
As the Minister of Tourism, Yaiza Castilla, advanced, “in this first draw, 4,500 vouchers will be distributed and we have been able to verify the interest that has aroused among thousands of Spaniards, since to date more than 83,000 people have registered, which is fantastic evidence that during the coming months the ‘Isla Bonita’ will receive the visit of many travelers who will help reactivate its tourism industry”.
Each virtual card or voucher has a value of 250 euros and allows the beneficiary to allocate it to accommodation services, restaurants or tourist activities in La Palma as long as they are adhered to the program.
To participate you only have to be of legal age and resident in Spain and with a single registration you can access all the draws.
If the person is not awarded in one of them, their registration continues to be active for later draws, so the opportunity to win one of the bonuses remains possible until the 20,000 virtual cards are used up without having to register again.
DIVERSE ORIGIN
At the moment the origin of those registered is very diverse, from residents in both Canary provinces to the rest of the Spanish territory, adding a total of 83,554 applications.
For their part, the establishments that have joined the initiative are basically accommodation, active tourism companies, restaurants and whale watching.
Thus, it is a wide offer with complementary activities that make the tractor effect of the program reach the entire local economic fabric, strongly affected after a few months of stoppage of activity as a result of the volcanic eruption.
To find out if the interested party has been awarded, they must wait for an email announcing that they are one of the beneficiaries, without having to go to the website to check the status of their registration, the Ministry said in a note.
The winner will be able to enjoy their virtual card for up to four months after activating it and has a telephone number for answering questions, 822 008 002, operating between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., as well as a specific website www.bonolapalma.com and the email [email protected].
In fact, on this website you can find inspiration to spend your virtual card, checking which establishments participate and design your tailor-made trip to enjoy your stay in La Palma.
