The Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 112 has warned this Saturday of the presence of jellyfish on the Benijos beach, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and bathers are asked to be careful since it would be Physalia physalis, also known as as a Portuguese caravel.
It is a species that lives in the great oceans, with the appearance of a jellyfish, but in reality it is a colonial organism whose individuals specialize in keeping the colony alive and that can cause very intense pain to humans with their stings.
