The itinerant campaign on the effects of Climate Change in the Canary Islands arrives in Santiago del Teide

The itinerant campaign on the effects of Climate Change in the Canary Islands arrives in Santiago del Teide on its tour of the Canarian municipalities. This initiative of the Ministry of Ecological Transition, Fight against Climate Change and Territorial Planning of the Government of the Canary Islands, developed through the Green Offices of the Canary Islands, can be visited from this Tuesday, February 22, at the Fisherman’s Museum in Puerto de Santiago.

The itinerant campaign that will remain until the 26th of that month in our municipality has environmental monitors to interpret the exhibition, in addition to giving talks.

This exhibition made up of 42 panels explains the general causes of climate change on the planet and the most obvious or indirect effects on the ecosystems of the Archipelago. Likewise, the existing solutions to mitigate the effects of climate change on the Islands are also detailed, which go through changes in the productive sectors, in the regulatory context and in the daily habits of citizens.

Climate change already generates serious effects on human health, the productive sectors, natural resources and the conservation of biodiversity and marine and terrestrial territories, hence the importance of a true process of education, training and awareness for the entire community. population about the truth of the ecological crisis and the need to move towards a new lifestyle, as well as towards responsible forms of production and consumption.

People who wish to enjoy the exhibition can do so from February 22 to 25, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., while on Saturday, February 26 the schedule is from 09:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
