The Police indicate that the detainee has been accused of crimes of fraud and misappropriation and it was the complaint of an insurance company that made the Police aware of a possible fraud in the contracting of insurance.
During the investigation carried out to verify the facts, the agents discovered that they dated back to the period of home confinement of the population due to the health emergency due to COVID-19.
According to the Police, with the excuse of avoiding unnecessary trips to clients, the detainee now offered them the possibility of paying for the supposedly contracted insurance policy through a mobile payment platform.
Next, the insurance agent allegedly appropriated the money, did not actually process the policies and did not inform the insurance company of their existence, while those who had contracted the policy mistakenly believed that they had the insurance in force, which was invalid in the face of any eventuality.
The investigators proceeded to arrest this man in the capital of Tenerife and brought him to justice after being heard in a statement.
