Maritime Rescue rescues 136 migrants in Canary waters overnight

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Jan. 23 (EUROPA PRESS) –

Maritime Rescue rescued three boats in which more than 136 people were traveling in the Canary Islands during the early hours of the morning, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 1-1-2.

On board one of the boats there were 27 North African migrants who were treated at the Arguineguín pier, in Gran Canaria. In the other two small boats, 109 people were traveling, assisted by personnel from the SUC and the Red Cross at the Arrecife pier. They were all in good condition.

Maritime Rescue personnel also yesterday afternoon rescued 46 Sub-Saharan migrants from a small boat located in waters near Lanzarote and transferred them to the Arrecife pier to be treated by SUC and Red Cross health personnel, who evacuated a woman and a boy to the Insular Hospital. baby.
