Guía de Isora attends the leading trade fair for tourism-emitting markets, Fitur, with great news. The granting of the Biosphere Destination certificate as a destination committed to sustainability, or obtaining the Cycling Friendly seal, are just some of the claims that the southern municipality has added in recent months.
“We are already a benchmark vacation destination for its excellence and good weather, and we also want our municipality to be attractive as a wellness destination,” says the mayor of Isorana, Josefa Mesa.
In Guía de Isora you can enjoy at all levels: relax, health, sports, culture and gastronomy. “We have a perfect natural wealth for sports lovers but also for those who are looking for a different type of vacation destination,” adds Mesa.
The pandemic has led to a more sedentary lifestyle. Many people have become accustomed to exercising at home, through the internet, or with a mask in gyms. In general, with less amount of air. But the human body has a memory and wants to go out again, to enjoy nature, to recharge its batteries in the sun and to breathe fresh air.
“That is why we think it is the perfect time to discover the wonders of Guía de Isora, where we offer an affordable, fun, healthy and safe type of sport for all levels. Enjoying a dive, learning to surf in the same place where international championships are held due to the fame of its waves, walking or cycling along a trail… these are the perfect plan to complement a vacation”, says the Councilor for Sports, Paúl Saints.
In Guía de Isora, outstanding events such as the Tenerife Ladies Open have been held in the last year, chosen as the best international tournament of the year by the participants and organization of the WTA 250, and the 2022 calendar will be inaugurated very soon with the XI Race Mountain in March.
“We offer a new product that incorporates sport to what the usual visitor is already looking for: sun, beach, gastronomy and culture”, highlights the Councilor for Tourism Development, Lorena Medina.
The City Council will also present its new tourist website in Madrid, a more intuitive, visual and dynamic portal, to find out in a few minutes the varied offer of accommodation, gastronomy and active tourism, highlighting the new diving platform that allows you to see the attractive Isora seabeds through virtual reality.
Luxury accommodation and gastronomy
Guía de Isora is consolidated as a select destination, with three luxury hotels -two of them considered among the best hotels in the world- as well as a varied offer of rural accommodation in its midlands, which brush the slopes of the Teide National Park.
A place where traditional gastronomy is complemented by innovation and quality recognized by the Michelin stars of Guía de Isora, two of them in the Martín Berasategui (MB) restaurant and another in Kabuki. Also in 2021 it was precisely an Isorano, chef Carlos Mesa, who was the winner of the First Mojo Competition in Spain, held at Madrid Fusión. Such is the fame that the area reaches, that the MasterChef Celebrity program also chose the Isorano municipality for one of its episodes.
