SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Jan. 18 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Firefighters of Tenerife have practically under control the fire that originated in the early afternoon of this Tuesday in a scrapyard in the municipality of Granadilla and the crews are already working on the extinction of the last active point.
From the Consortium they point out that most of the vehicles that were stacked in the facilities were not decontaminated, which is why there have been explosions of batteries, tires and fuel tanks that have generated a large column of smoke.
The company’s personnel were the ones who gave the alert after a fire broke out in some fuel tanks in the decontamination area.
Some thirty firefighters, plus six urban pumps, three supply vehicles, a helicopter from the GES (Emergencies and Rescue Group) that has discharged water in the area, two command and control units and a unit of personnel and cargo.
