The official agenda of Adeje at the Madrid International Tourism Fair (Fitur 2022) starts today with a first meeting of the mayor, José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga, at the Secretary of State for Tourism. In addition, he also chairs the board of directors of the Alliance of Tourist Municipalities of Sun and Beach (AMT) and attends, as a listener, various debate tables framed in the “11 Exceltur Tourist Leadership Forum”.
Along with the first mayor of Adejero, the Councilor for Tourism, Adolfo Alonso, and a work team from the municipality will be at the event, which this year, due to the pandemic, has been reduced to a minimum.
Adeje already announced last Friday that, like every year, it will attend the most important fair in the world, hand in hand with the Government of the Canary Islands and the Cabildo de Tenerife to offer an image of solidity to all emerging markets. That is the main objective of this year, looking at the expected recovery of the sector in 2022, a recovery that goes through normal health conditions and overcomes the Covid-19 pandemic.
Rodríguez Fraga, in his capacity as president of the AMT, will meet this Tuesday morning with the Secretary of State for Tourism, Fernando Valdés, together with the vice-president of the Alliance, the mayor of Salou, Pere Granados. This is a meeting in which the projects for 2022 and the need for the support of his department for projects that the Alliance wants to attend to advance on issues such as decarbonization or digitalization will be transferred to the senior official of the Government of Spain. The AMT has also signed an agreement with Setur to develop a study on the definition of a tourist municipality.
In the afternoon, the mayor of Adeje will preside over the meeting of the AMT board of directors with an agenda in which the approach of a joint proposal with each of the municipalities to the Spain Tourism Experiences call stands out.
