SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, December 29 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Government of the Canary Islands works on the distribution and implementation of European aid within the Reactivation and Resilience Mechanism for the recovery and improvement of the primary sector in the islands.
Thus, this Wednesday the Strategic Planning Instrument (IPE) for that area of the Canary Islands Government has been approved by the Governing Council, with a provision of 3.1 million euros.
In this way, the autonomous department will summon in early 2022 a total of six lines of subsidy aimed at promoting efficiency and competitiveness in agriculture and livestock.
Among the main lines of aid, those destined to investments in biosafety, integral transformation and modernization of greenhouses stand out; programs to support energy efficiency and renewable energies, or precision agriculture and 4.0 technologies, among others.
The recipients of these subsidies will be the owners of those agricultural holdings of reproductive plant material (MVR) and cleaning centers for means of transport of live animals; holders of authorized cleaning and disinfection centers, and professional operators registered in the Registry of Professional Vegetable Operators and authorized to produce MVR.
These measures will also be aimed at family farms and ranches of medium economic size, and farms with greater investment needs with the aim of trying to reach at least 50% of potential beneficiaries.
For the management of funds from the European Union within the framework of Next Generation-EU, the Ministry has designed a structure of human and material resources necessary for the processing, execution and monitoring of projects through the Strategic Planning Instrument.
Along with these lines of subsidy, the Ministry has promoted the plan to improve irrigation efficiency, valued at 57.5 million, in which the Ministry has collaborated with the entity State Societies of Agrarian Infrastructures (SEIASA) to determine what Irrigation works in the Islands will be carried out with charge of these funds.
