Two agreements give work to 82 unemployed people from Granadilla de Abona since this week. With a global investment of 900,538 euros, these plans are financed through the Canary Islands Employment Service (SCE) and the City Council. It is an extraordinary employment program (PEES), which lasts eight months and costs 754,526 euros, and a regeneration program for rural agricultural areas, which will run for three months for 146,012.
In the first case, the hiring benefits 59 people: 17 are first-class officers and 42 construction laborers for the development of tasks of public interest and social utility. Specifically, it encourages the labor integration of a group of people with difficulties to do so, so that they acquire knowledge related to urban maintenance and the beautification of urban spaces, in addition to improving the aesthetics of the environment, the standard of living and attracting more consumers that promote commercial and tourist development.
Actions for this include: pipelines, maintenance and improvement of green areas and municipal buildings, sports spaces and coastal environments; the elimination of architectural barriers; repairs of degraded spaces, lighting and energy efficiency; plumbing and painted.
Regarding the rural agricultural regeneration programIt has 23 workers: 3 bricklayers, 4 construction workers, 2 foreman and 14 cleaning workers. The work to be carried out seeks to facilitate the living conditions of citizens by taking care of the rural environment and promoting the consumption of local products, in addition to promoting training for the creation of employment in the agricultural sector. It will be developed in the network of roads and trails, the Las Crucitas municipal farm and the Barranquillo agricultural and forest tracks and the traditional roads Virgen del Pino street and the rural environment of the hermitage, Los Hibrones and Hermano Pedro de Charco del Pino; La Montaña street and Chiñama surroundings, La Fuente royal road, Cruz de Tea trail, La Hurta, Montaña Gorda and El Cascajo, Cha Joaquina ravine, Finca Las Crucitas royal road and Montaña Chiñama agricultural track.
