An 86-year-old man has drowned around 12 noon this Sunday on the beach of El Médano (Tenerife), according to the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (Cecoes) 1-1-2.
In this way, a call alerted that the rescuers had taken a man out of the water in cardiorespiratory arrest with signs of drowning and that they were performing basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers.
Once at the scene, the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), together with the doctor from the Health Center in the area, performed advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers without obtaining results, having to confirm his death.
Finally, the Civil Guard took charge of the body of the deceased until the arrival of the judicial authority and carried out the corresponding procedures, while the Local Police collaborated with the emergency services.
