The Municipality of Teguestefrom the Department of Festivities, has confirmed that the municipality will celebrate its traditional wizards dancefor the San Marcos festivities, on the 30th of this month, while the popular verbena will take place the day before.

Thus, as detailed, from the next day 19 you can request the tables for the ball of magicians, at the entrance of the City Hall, as well as withdraw the free tickets necessary for both events, up to a maximum capacity of 5,000 people. Specifically, tickets will be available at the Town Hall entrance, from Monday to Friday, from 08:00 to 14:00, and at the Teatro Príncipe Felipe, from Monday to Friday, from 08:00 to 21:30.

It should be remembered that the City Council has already confirmed this week that it has been decided not to carry out the traditional and emblematic pilgrimage of San Marcos, one of the most important on the island, although the Government of the Canary Islands has lifted the restrictions due to the pandemic and allows these festivities. On the other hand, that day, the next 24, the town will host, from 12:00 to 7:00 p.m., an exhibition of carts and carts, in the Jesús Cedrés Melián extension. In addition, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., there will be performances by folk groups.

In the program of the festivities, the councilor of the area, Eladia López, highlights that, “although, fortunately, this 2022 presents a hopeful panorama to recover many of our customs safely, the idea of celebrating the pilgrimage has had to be discarded as we know it.” “However, we have opted to take a step beyond the pilgrimage from the balconies that had been encouraged, with the aim of finishing our carts and carts so that they can be exhibited and visited by neighbors and visitors,” she pointed out in this regard.

However, the popular verbena and the magicians’ dance will be held, as well as the Election Gala of the Romera Mayor, on the 22nd at 9:00 p.m., in the Plaza de San Marcos; in addition to children’s activities, dramatized routes, pyrotechnic displays and other activities.

religious acts

As for religious acts, on the 23rd the popular offering of the fruits of the field to San Marcos Evangelista will take place; on the 24th, from 12 noon, the Eucharist and procession of the sacred image; on the 25th, at 1:00 p.m., the blessing of the cattle, and, at 8:00 p.m., the procession accompanied by the musical group San Marcos Evangelista.
