SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 23 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

CaixaBank launches a new edition of the solidarity initiative ‘The Tree of Dreams’, which aims to offer Christmas gifts to more than 2,000 children in vulnerable situations in the Canary Islands.

The financial entity has organized the fourth edition of this program, open to all the entity’s clients, employees and all members of the Volunteering program.

Thus, together with 8 social entities on the islands, the reception of the letters drawn up by the boys and girls will be coordinated and delivery to each of the participants will be managed through the network of CaixaBank offices throughout the archipelago or in a manner telematics.

The entity estimates that the 2021 edition will mobilize thousands of people, including collaborating entities, social workers, volunteers, employees and clients of the financial entity throughout Spain, to make the wishes of 25,000 boys and girls from all over the country linked to social entities that fight against child poverty in all the autonomous communities, such as those adhered to the CaixaProinfancia program of the ‘la Caixa’ Foundation.

Collaborating organizations in the Canary Islands include Children’s Villages, Hestia Association, We Accompany You Association, Adsis Foundation, Messengers of Peace, Radio Ecca, Red Cross and Sociocultural Association La Vida es Zuaina, among others.

In addition, this year companies and sports clubs on the islands are collaborating with ‘The Tree of Dreams’ that will make their employees participate in the solidarity action to make these 2,000 boys and girls of the archipelago happy.

Likewise, the El Goro Business Association, Group Number 1, Binter Canarias, Construcciones Daltre, Fundación Canaria Dinosol, Egatesa, Encuentro Modas, Fund Grube, Fundación Canaria Martínez Hermanos, López Hotels, Satocan, Canarias Basketball Club, will also join the initiative. Gran Canaria Basketball Club and Tenerife Sports Club.

This new edition of ‘The Tree of Dreams’ will seek to consolidate itself, one more year, as one of the leading solidarity initiatives in the country.

In the Canary Islands, since 2018 the financial institution has managed to fulfill the dreams of more than 8,000 children.

REALIZATION OF DREAMS

The main objective of ‘The Tree of Dreams’ is to make possible the wish of boys and girls who will hardly have the gift they want at Christmas due to the scarce economic resources of their family.

To do this, the children benefiting from the initiative have written a letter asking for the gifts they would like to receive, the company details in a note.

All these letters have been distributed throughout the CaixaBank network in such a way that customers and employees can request one of the letters and, in this way, contribute to making the wish expressed by the minor come true.

Once the package is prepared, it must be delivered to the same office where the letter was received, with an identification label that facilitates the organization to guarantee traceability and correct delivery. The deadline for receiving gifts will end on December 15.

In addition, in this edition, and for the first time, CaixaBank will have the collaboration of El Corte Inglés.

For every two gifts that the participants of this solidarity initiative acquire through its official website, El Corte Inglés will donate an additional gift that will be channeled through the Red Cross and will go to refugee children in Spain who have not had the opportunity to write your letter.

Thanks to this collaboration, the gifts will be multiplied and reach many more vulnerable children.

TERRITORIAL CAPILLARITY

For the second consecutive year, the initiative is extrapolated to the entire CaixaBank Group network.

Thanks to this, ‘The Tree of Dreams’ in 2021 will achieve the largest extension of its history throughout the territory.

CaixaBank has the largest commercial network in the financial sector in Spain, with more than 6,000 branches, it is present in 100% of the towns with more than 10,000 inhabitants and in 94% of those with more than 5,000.

Likewise, a broad campaign will be developed on social networks, which can be followed under the tag # ArbolDeLosSueños.
