SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov 11 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Government of the Canary Islands approved this Thursday at its Council meeting to provide a loan of 150,000 euros for the technical assistance project for the open commercial areas (ZCA) of La Gomera.
This item, from the General Directorate of Tourism Infrastructure, joins that of the General Directorate of Commerce and Consumption for the year 2021 for an amount of 40,000 euros, destined to technically assist those commercial areas open in the definition of projects that enhance the dynamization of them.
The extension of the credit is justified by the need to provide assistance in the preparation or modification of the zonal and insular master plans for the projection and execution of commercial urban planning works that stimulate the open commercial areas of the island of La Gomera.
Specifically, the objective is to define the execution projects to be carried out in the municipalities of Hermigua, Alajeró and Agulo, a task that is intended to be entrusted to the public company Gestur.
The reasons for the economic situation that justify this extension of credit are based on the increasingly urgent need to fix the population to the territory on that island.
For this, it is intended to provide each municipality with an open-air, attractive, active and enjoyable commercial area, where economic and commercial activity is centralized, providing commercial urban planning works appropriate to each municipal reality and that facilitate mobility, on all of the pedestrian, and improve the attractiveness of the area (urban furniture, gardening), so that it makes them make a relevant qualitative leap over the previous situation, helping in a clear and determined way to improve the perception of the population of their city, especially the young population.
