The winning work of the photographic contest My Favorite Corner of La Laguna, by Jonatan Ramírez and entitled La Laguna is from another world, has received the award for the Best Night Image of Spain in the national competition, an initiative of CortoEspaña aimed at allowing citizens and visitors to share the landscapes, gastronomy and most attractive places in Spain. The Councilor for Tourism, María José Roca, congratulated the winner and recalled that, as stated in the rules, this work will be included in the tourism promotion material for La Laguna.
Roca highlighted the “recognition of the quality and quantity of works presented to the contest in La Laguna, with an award that has made the municipality visible among the thousands of participating images from all over the country. One of the objectives of this contest in La Laguna has been precisely to promote the tourist promotion of the town through new ways, in this case, through the citizens themselves in the social network Instagram, both for its penetration in society, as well as the virality generated by the creations of the people participating in the contest themselves, ”Roca said.
My Favorite Corner, the national photography contest that invited citizens to upload the best of each locality to Instagram, has recently published the list of the winners of its national awards, to which the snapshots of all the local competitions of the country.
In addition to the award for Best National Photography, which Vicente Guill Fuster has received for the image “Cuets”, with which he also won the contest held in the Alicante municipality of Onil, the contest has different categories, including image nocturnal, which has relapsed in La Laguna; landscape, gastronomy and the fight against covid. The awards have been awarded by juries made up of municipal institutional agents and personalities from the audiovisual sector.
This first edition of My Favorite Corner has had 24 local competitions, among which, in addition to La Laguna, include cities such as A Coruña, Avilés, Cádiz, Logroño, Santander, Toledo, Valladolid or Vitoria-Gasteiz. In total, 3,717 photographs have been submitted.
