The proposal for the Animal Welfare and Protection Law is open to the presentation of citizen contributions until next Friday, October 22, through the Parlament @ Canarias platform.
Those who so wish can present amendments to the articles of this text composed of 54 articles grouped into nine titles, eight additional provisions, four transitory, one repeal and three final.
The purpose of this law is to achieve the highest level of protection and welfare of animals, with a renewed set of duties and obligations, as well as prohibitions, in particular those of mistreatment in any of its forms and establishing the definitive eradication of fights. of animals.
The obligations of identification and sanitary control, the general registry of companion animals of the Canary Islands, places of temporary maintenance of animals, education on animal welfare, inspection, sanctions or surveillance are other of the many aspects that is intended to regulate with this law.
