Carlos Alonso points out that “we want to support the efforts of the Arona City Council and the Cabildo to finance the aforementioned actions, in particular through the use of Next Generation funds.” To do this, it is necessary to request the Government of the Canary Islands the inclusion in the Budgets of the Autonomous Community of a multiannual budget allocation “sufficient and adequate for the development of these actions.”
CC thus conveys to the Plenary of the Cabildo its basic agreement, which includes «evaluating the use of the rest of the ports on the island of Tenerife to facilitate the aforementioned connections, including an analysis of schedules and routes in the trips that have as origin or destination the Port of Los Cristianos ». The proposal also urges the Government of the Canary Islands to reconsider the viability of the Port of Fonsalía with a complete environmental, social, economic and technical analysis.
This analysis must assess all the alternatives and impacts that can be detected, in a global context of climate crisis. The preparation of the document must also involve the University of La Laguna and the Professional College of Civil Engineers, Channels and Ports, according to Alonso.
