The Consistory replaces the laurels “apparently poisoned” in San José

The Department of Parks and Gardens of the San Juan de la Rambla City Council, coordinated by the mayor Priscila Díaz (PSOE), announces that it will plant four catalpas this week in the Plaza de San José to replace the Indian laurels that, according to the mayor, Ezequiel Domínguez (PSOE), suffered “an apparent poisoning.” The area is developing a program to adapt the green areas of the neighborhood, “placing special emphasis on the vegetation in Plaza Domingo Reyes Afonso where new trees will be planted to replace the old one.”

The mayor celebrates “that the Plaza Domingo Reyes Afonso recovers its iconic trees after the 60-year-old Indian laurels” abruptly dried up with apparent signs of poisoning. With the new trees, “the square will regain its charm.”
