Canary Islands Coalition asks the Adejero municipal government to act immediately to improve security in the bathing area of El Puertito and to delimit the areas dedicated to bathing and boats with beacons. “We must not wait for an accident to occur and act now,” claims the nationalist spokesman, Óliver Tacoronte.
He explains that in summer the influx increases and “not only bathers come, but divers, excursion boats (of which some are at anchor), private boats and jet skis.”
In this sense, it recalls that the Coastal Law establishes the municipal powers in monitoring compliance with standards in matters of rescue and safety on the beaches. “The municipalities are responsible for marking, labeling and signaling the beaches and bathing areas, and for ensuring that it is complied with.”
