The public company Gestur will draw up the mobility plan for the La Estación area, urban and commercial center of Tacoronte, within the framework of the development that is projected for this area. It must be available in six months and its cost is 30,000 euros. It is a “vital” document for guarantee an alternative to traffic that runs along the main road and improves conditions for traffic and pedestrians, in addition to solving the problem of parking, among other issues. This is assured by the Councilor for Urbanism, Tarsis Morales, for whom “it is essential to improve the area a lot, something that is possible with an urban transformation.”

The first deputy mayor also highlights that the Mobility Plan must include new road layouts, the completion of several roads that are currently unfinished, the relocation of infrastructures, such as the bus station – adapting its accesses through roundabouts – and new access roads. from the TF-5, the general highway and the highway to Tejina.

Morales states that the specific modification of the General Management Plan (PGO) for the areas Casco Urbano-Zone Station action 1, and the Unit of Action 21-Camacho. He affirms that Gestur has the project and must evaluate it through this study, “essential to give continuity to the rest of the contents.”

Tarsis Morales argues that it is about taking advantage of the potential of the urban center “for the establishment of new business niches, which can form a very strong economic axis between the area of La Estación and Los Naranjeros», Defends the councilor.

The mayor, José Daniel Díaz, remarked that it is about improving mobility in the area through a “wise plan and without any kind of improvisation.” The councilor announces that Tacoronte will send a document to the Cabildo “in which it is clear that circulation will be improved on the island roads that pass through this environment, which make up a complex communications hub but, at the same time, represents an interesting challenge to the time to make decisions to improve the commercial area, so that it is attractive and combines with a fluid traffic and according to the necessary standards.

Díaz agrees that «the creation of new parking lots, vital for the subsistence of the commercial area “, so it hopes” to enable accessible parking and that generate access to commerce to create an environment of coexistence between the vehicle and the pedestrian, and so that Tacoronte is even more attractive than it is today”.
