The discovery in the summer of 2016 of a body dismembered into several mats in the Barranco de Santos de Santa Cruz of Tenerife It shocked the Tenerife society. Three years later, the police investigation led to the arrest of José Antonio Luis Aguiar, who is now accused by the Public Prosecutor of a crime of murder aggravated by treachery, cruelty and kinship.

According to Radio Club Tenerife, the prosecutor requests for the alleged perpetrator of these events a 25-year prison sentence and the payment of 300,000 euros to the victim’s heirs as civil liability.

The facts go back to July 2016, when a group of young people walking through the capital’s ravine found two mats and inside a dismembered body. According to the first information, the remains were in an advanced state of decomposition, so everything pointed to the fact that the crime had occurred years ago.

One of the first hypotheses is that the body of the victim was hidden elsewhere and he was transferred to this area in order to make him go unnoticed. Shortly after, it was learned that it was a young woman and that she had died violently.

The investigation concluded that it was a young woman whose disappearance had been reported five years ago: Adoración de la Cruz Vera Rodríguez. It was in 2019 when the Homicide Group of the National Police José Antonio Luis Aguiar, then 44 years old and with more than 30 police and criminal records, was arrested.

Among them was the murder of a man whose body was found at the Padrón Guesthouse in the capital of Tenerife. Precisely, during the investigations of this crime, blood samples were found whose DNA could not be identified until the appearance of the body in the Barranco de Santos.

The arrested man is already serving a sentence for the first of the Padrón Pension crimes, imposed for a total of 17 years in prison.
