The last day of the third edition of the Gran Canaria Air Battle that comprises the Spanish Kiteboarding Championship and Canary Open, in addition to the first competition of Wing Foil from the Canary Islands, It has been carried out by competitors who have literally flown with a wing over the waves that wash the beach of El Burrero.

The Wing Foil Race mode, the Formula 1 aquatic circuit at 35 knots of speed. Unbeatable in most races and honoring his title of leader in the national ranking, the competitor based in Fuerteventura, Gunnar Biniash took the victory in this modality.

The hydrofoil show is not only experienced by racing to prove to be the fastest, but it is also lived in the air, flying over the waves. And in this category (Wing Foil Freestyle) has finally managed to be the best Jeremy Burlando (Tenerife), after a very close final with the Gran Canaria Liam Dunkerbeck (Maspalomas), son of the legend of kitesurfing Björn Dunkerbeck, 42 times world champion.

The final of the youngest of the youth Big Air category surprised the public, in which a show was witnessed in the heights starring Leonardo Casati (Tenerife), who has been able to take the title home after having snatched it from the Catalan Max Sanz (Castelldefels), who took second place, followed by Fabien Capmarty (Tenerife).

The girls in the Big Air modality –high jumps– have also flown high and with a lot of style, although the majorera Alexandra Torres has reached the final, who has an incredible level and a lot of experience in competition, doing some quite technical tricks like the board off (take off the board underneath) and tic tac (make it turn), while Lorena Schamann from Gran Canaria has taken second place thanks to some very high jumps and her star trick: one foot, you grab the board and take a foot. The consolation final was played by Judith Alonso from Tenerife (third place) and 16-year-old Daniela Moreno from Gran Canaria, who won the 7up prize for the most complete competitor. The men’s Big Air final took place with perfect wind, in which two world champions met with victory for Liam Whaley (Tarifa) over Brazilian Carlos Mario.
