The town of Guamasathe traditional costume and went out to dance to the rhythm of parrandas. On one of the most representative and exciting days of the year, the neighbors of this La Laguna community came together for the Romería in honor of San Isidro Labrador.

The planned route started at the church square, from 2:00 PM, and included the participation of thirty carts, 10 wagons, and 25 folklore groups.
The Mayor, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, who took part in the festivities, highlighted that “these types of celebrations are always a source of pride for the entire population of the municipality, thanks to the numerous people who participate in this pilgrimage, the groups that contribute their musical quality, and the various generations of locals attending this event properly dressed in their traditional costumes“.
The Romería of San Isidro, which also included the Dance of Guamasa, started from the mentioned square, on Santa Rosa de Lima path, to pass through the main road of the North, the connection of El Boquerón, the Acacias promenade and returning to the path of Santa Rosa de Lima.

At the end of the Romería, the usual dance is planned for Sunday afternoon and evening, which this time is enlivened by the groups Los Cadetes and Gomeray.

This Romería is the highlight of a festival program, which also included other events such as theRomería Chica and the gala for the election of the Romera Mayor and Romera de los Mayores.
This Monday, June 2, the Day of the Elders will take place, which will include an excursion, a neighborhood gathering , and dances enlivened by the soloist Francisco.
Tenerife fills every summer with traditional festivities, both in the most important communities and in towns like Guamasa. The next Sunday, June 8, the romería of Granadilla de Abona will be celebrated, on the 15th the one of Tacoronte, on the 21st the one of Igueste de Candelaria, on the 22nd the one of Arico, and on the 29th the one of La Orotava, the latter being one of the most important in this year’s calendar.
