Technological innovation for strategic sectors

Since its foundation in 1982 in La Laguna, Tenerife, Atecresa has been a key piece in the digital transformation of the Canarian business fabric. With more than four decades of experience, the company has established itself as a leader in technological solutions for business management, especially in sectors such as hospitality, retail trade and professional services.

His presence in the Gastrocanarias edition 2025 confirms his commitment to innovation applied to the gastronomic and hotel sector. Under the direction of its manager, José Igareta, Atecresa has developed a unique technological ecosystem in the islands, with solutions that cover from TPV (point of sale terminals) to advanced ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems, passing through pioneering projects in robotics and artificial intelligence.

Throughout its history, it has demonstrated an unusual capacity to anticipate the needs of the market. From the introduction of the kitchen printer and the digital command, which speeds up the orders without the waiter abandoning customer service, to card collection systems directly on the table, the company has contributed significantly to the automation of processes and the profitability of local businesses.

One of its most disruptive milestones was the replication of local databases in the cloud, which allowed its customers to consult the product stock and share information between establishments. “It was a revolution at the time, although innovating from the Canary Islands is not always easy,” he explains.

Already in 2009, the company introduced the use of the QR code at the restaurant tables, long before it became popular following the pandemic. This innovation allowed diners to access the digital letter from its devices, reducing physical contact and facilitating menu update.

Robotics to improve, not to replace

On its 40th anniversary, Atecresa took a step further by betting on the importation of robots for hospitality and industrial cleaning in the Canary Islands. “The robots do not come to take work, but to relieve tedious tasks, especially in a context where it is difficult to find staff,” says Igareta.

Among the success cases are robots that collect dirty dishes and take them to the dishwasher, and cleaning robots capable of sweeping up to 3,000 square meters of surface. These advances have had a direct impact on productivity and the reduction of operational costs in several establishments. Likewise, artificial intelligence is being implemented, for automation and conversational boot for reservations and orders, generating all the service autonomously.

In Gastrocanarias, Atecresa will present some of its most successful solutions, such as kitchen printers, the smart drawer – which avoids unbrusted and possible robberies – and new products focused on sustainability and integral management of establishments.

One of its star launches will be a kiosk for Kilometer zero reserves, designed to support small producers and encourage local consumption. This system will allow entrepreneurs to manage reserves through their own software, opening a new way of digitalization in the rural environment.

The company has launched two technological ecosystems aimed at key sectors: the hotelier and the industrial. In the first, the development of a “digital janitor” stands out, a multifunction kiosk that allows guests to reserve excursions, transfers, boat trips, kitchen classes or golf, among other services. To this is added an energy efficiency device that reduces electrical consumption by up to 12%, guaranteed by contract without financial risk for the hotel.

In the field of industry, Atecresa is betting on a combination of three complementary cleaning robots, capable of identifying obstacles, and also by energy savings solutions adapted to industrial environments. In addition, he has developed three advanced QR code models and works on an AI capable of managing reservations in restaurants, home orders, recommendations for personalized dishes and promotions.

With a solvent trajectory and a clear vision of the future, Atecresa is positioned as a fundamental technological “player” in the Canarian business scene and a strategic ally for those who seek efficiency, sustainability and competitiveness in the digital era.
