The City Council of El Rosario has recently engaged Orion Analyst Limited Society to undertake a project to pinpoint the authors behind painted graffiti and vandalism.
“With extensive experience in handling similar requests for other municipalities on the island, this company, which specialises in calligraphic analysis of akin signatures and graffiti that deface public pathways, will prepare reports on the graffiti locations, their authorship, and subsequent follow-up for the cleaning of urban furniture and facades, or public spaces,” stated the town hall in a recent announcement.
Prevention and Attribution
The Vandalism Prevention Programme for public spaces will comprise a database and a series of phases aimed at preventing and attributing the vandalism graffiti occurring within El Rosario. The primary goals of this initiative include prevention, accurate identification of the authors, and the creation of the necessary expert and judicial reports.
Through close collaboration with the Local Police, the involvement of experts will facilitate more rapid and precise identification of those accountable, the development of an effective database, and awareness-raising among young people via educational talks in the schools of the municipality. This comprehensive approach will enhance citizen security and communal harmony.
Information
The engaged company will gather and consolidate all reports of graffiti from historical police archives alongside current incidents occurring in the municipality. This will enable the preparation of expert reports that permit the attribution and sanctioning of those identified as responsible for the vandalism, thus striving for the immediate eradication of both identified and unidentified instances of impunity.
Furthermore, both an identification report and a calligraphic analysis of all recorded graffiti will be generated to facilitate sanctions against anyone who damages public furniture or spaces.
A cycle of discussions will also be conducted in schools to make students aware of the methods available for detecting graffiti artists, while conveying the seriousness of the legal ramifications involved, as well as potential alternatives to illegal and vandalistic graffiti, thereby fostering a genuine appreciation for the aesthetic value of urban art.
