These days there have been new landslides on the slope of Playa del Bollullo, affecting the access path to the beach itself. For this reason, the mayor of the Villa, Francisco Linares, informs that the respective technical inspections have been carried out, and after evaluating them, “as of this December 30, and until further notice, the access to this beach ”, he announced. In this sense, it underlines that “the safety of users is a priority.”
These days large rocks have fallen in an area where there is no protection, so they fell onto the trail. The first institutional representative explains that a few months ago, specifically last July, there was a major detachment in the area that forced the beach to be closed for a few months to act urgently on the slope by placing a mesh and reinforcing the affected area . However, this emergency action did not contemplate comprehensive action.
“So now, and as it was intended, it will be necessary to place the protection along the entire slope,” says Linares. In the coming days of January, budgets will be requested to carry out these works, and to be able to condition the entire slope, and open access when we can guarantee security. Next week, municipal technicians will study in greater detail the situation of the cliff and the measures to be adopted.
