Covid-19 continues unstoppable in the Canary Islands and adds 5,261 positives and 8 deceased people

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, December 30 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has notified this Thursday a new record of coronavirus infections by recording a total of 5,261 positives, bringing the accumulated figure to 149,046, with 41,059 active cases, of which 350 (-5) They are hospitalized in the ward and 67 in the ICU (without variation).

In addition, the islands have registered eight deaths, bringing the total number of deaths since the pandemic began to 1,132.

By territories, Tenerife continues to lead the daily cases and reports 2,889 positives that increase its active cases to 23,715, with 75,127 accumulated while Gran Canaria certifies 1,706 cases that bring the total since the beginning of the pandemic to 53,222, of which 12,470 are active.

Lanzarote adds 322 cases that bring their accumulated to 10,009 of which 1,674 are active while Fuerteventura registers 126 new infections that increase their active cases to 2,093 and those accumulated to 7,077 infections.

La Palma adds another 158 cases that increase their accumulated to 2,159 of which 674 are still active; La Gomera notifies 22 cases raising its accumulated to 809 and 203 active and El Hierro adds 37 cases so its accumulated increases to 636, of which 16 are active.

The Accumulated Incidence (AI) continues to grow and stands at 1,043.08 cases per 100,000 inhabitants for 7 days and 1,670.07 cases for 14 days.

Until this Thursday, 2,733,656 diagnostic tests have been carried out in the Canary Islands, with 22.1% positive.
