National Police officers have detained two men who had just stolen from a restaurant on the General Highway of the North in La Laguna, taking a safe containing over 500 euros, which is the sum that has been recovered.
The triggering of the establishment’s alarm system, which captured footage of two individuals inside, prompted police action.
Upon their arrival, officers confirmed that the main entrance of the restaurant had been tampered with and the interior was in disarray.
A police operation was deployed, enabling the swift location of the first suspect in the vicinity, who was attempting to leave the area with 310 euros in cash, comprised of 10 and 20 euro notes.
Shortly thereafter, the second suspect was apprehended while concealing himself on a nearby farm, possessing 120 euros in cash and the keys to a vehicle.
The prompt police response also led to the discovery of the stolen safe, which had been forced open and emptied, found in nearby bushes alongside various tools believed to have been used in the burglary. In total, 510.15 euros were retrieved.
