SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE 29. (Press Europa) –

The Government of the Canary Islands has resolved on Tuesday to maintain the Autonomous Emergency Declaration due to “instability” in communications and will not revoke it until it is “100%” assured that citizens can reach the 112 Operational Centre.

This information was conveyed to journalists by Manuel Miranda, the Emergency Minister of the Canary Islands Government, following a meeting of the Advisory Committee of the Civil Protection Territorial Plan for the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands (Platca).

The minister noted that there have been “peaks” due to excessive demand and acknowledged that the Peninsula, in part, has experienced an “exceptional, unusual and challenging” situation, which reached its zenith with the collapse of communications across the archipelago for nearly three hours during the late afternoon and evening on Monday.
