The sight of long queues of vehicles on the road leading to the Anaga Rural Park has been observed again this Friday, despite the traffic monitoring and control measures implemented during Easter week.
The aim, in this instance of the Civil Guard, is to prevent camping in the area during the holiday period and to stop vehicles from accessing restricted zones, such as the Arcenes.
It is important to note that the Cabildo de Tenerife passed a motion at the end of March urging the Ministry of the Interior to bolster the presence of the Benemérita as part of urgent measures aimed at addressing the mobility challenges in this area of the island.
Additionally, representatives from various local communities recently agreed to provide the island corporation with a month and a half to implement effective traffic regulation solutions, particularly around Cruz del Carmen.
They further stated that should they not receive a response, or if the response does not lead to tangible actions, they would arrange a regulated road closure demonstration via San Andrés and Las Canteras.
