PSOE Canario Critiques PP for Betraying Canary Islands Over Minor’s Decree Validation

Santa Cruz de Tenerife 10 Apr. (Press Europa) –

The PSOE of the Canary Islands emphasised on Thursday that the approval in the Congress of Deputies of the Decree-Law for the Reform of the Foreigners Law to allocate migrant minors is a prime example of “State Policy,” while accusing the PP of “betraying” the archipelago.

In a statement, the “Miras Height” of Congress highlighted the need to “address a significant humanitarian crisis like the one currently experienced in the border territories,” as “at long last” a “solidarity and territorial reception” of unaccompanied migrant minors present in the Canary Islands will become feasible.

The socialists underscored the “just acknowledgment of the work, determination, and sensitivity displayed by everyone involved in making this historic agreement a reality,” particularly praising the role of President Pedro Sánchez and the Minister of Territorial Policy, Ángel Víctor Torres, “without whose bravery and commitment it would have been impossible to achieve such progress, a task carried out in cooperation with the Government of the Canary Islands.”

Regarding the PP, they expressed disappointment that it has chosen to “shirk this responsibility and betray what this land requires,” a stance that will be examined in the coming days and that will elicit “a well-deserved response.”
