Santa Cruz de Tenerife 10 Apr. (Press Europa) –
The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office has requested a one-year prison sentence and the commencement of an oral trial for former national deputy Juan Bernardo Fuentes Curbelo, known as ‘Tito Berni’, for an alleged offence of bribery in one of the separate components of the ‘Mediator Case’.
The document, submitted to Instruction Court number 4 and accessed by Europa Press, also includes a disqualification during the sentence and a suspension for three years from holding any employment or public office.
Regarding the mediator Marco Antonio Navarro Tacoronte, the Prosecutor’s Office is seeking a four-year prison term for the purported crimes of fraud and bribery, along with a three-year disqualification from public office or employment.
Additionally, businessman Antonio Bautista faces a one-year prison sentence for an alleged bribery offence, while Taishet Fuentes, nephew of ‘Tito Berni’ and former director general of Livestock for the Government of the Canary Islands, could face another four years in prison for fraud and bribery, as well as a three-year disqualification from employment or public office.
