The Dominican artist Juan Luis Guerra is set to return to Spanish stages this summer with a tour that will see him perform in six cities across the Peninsula and the Canary Islands throughout July.
The performer of ‘I would like to be a fish’ is scheduled to take the stage on July 17 in Jaén; on July 19 in Sanxenxo (Pontevedra); on July 22 in Gijón; on July 24 in Fuengirola; on July 26 in Gran Canaria; and on July 27 in Tenerife.
During the 2025 concerts, attendees will have the chance to relive all of the artist’s hits, along with songs featured in his latest albums, including ‘between sea and palm trees’ (2022) and the EP ‘Privé’ (2020).
This latest tour comes on the heels of his ‘between sea and palm trees’ tour, which saw “sold-out” signs in numerous venues, including several throughout Spain.
Born on June 7, 1957, in Santo Domingo, Guerra is a composer, producer, and ambassador of Caribbean culture, noted for blending genres such as merengue, bachata, salsa, jazz, and Dominican folk rhythms to create a distinctive sound.
After studying music at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo and Berklee College of Music in Boston, Juan Luis Guerra formed his band, 4.40, in 1984. This marked the beginning of a career highlighted by pivotal moments such as the release of ‘Bachata Rosa’ in 1990, which established him as one of the prominent voices in Latin music.
